About Us
Uplift Enterprises started in 2010 as an entity devoted to serving Pittsburgh and other urban areas through promoting major cultural performances. Uplift Enterprises successfully organized its "Comedy Explosion" series by bringing both Kevin Hart(9/17/10) and Mike Epps(4/22/11) to sold-out audiences at Soldiers and Sailors Hall. On September 23, 2011, Uplift Enterprises organized a "Back-to-School Concert" with the hottest name in R&B, Trey Songz.
- All of our events are red-carpeted affairs featuring video interviews in addition to world-class photography by Michael Brooks.
- We also feature an annual classic hip-hop series at the Shadow Lounge. Thus far, Doug E. Fresh, KRS-One, and Dead Prez have thrilled Pittsburgh hip-hop heads with stellar performances.
- Uplift Enterprises also features one-of-kind and never-seen-before interviews with cultural icons such as COMMON, Talib Kweli, Chuck D, KRS-One, Doug E. Fresh, Black Thought, and Dr. Michael Eric Dyson.
Uplift Enterprises is also dedicated to the goals of Community outreach and Empowering the next generation: Each year Uplift Enterprises will organize charity events and award college scholarships to deserving area students. Uplift Enterprises also offers student internships for all of their events: Students interns gain expertise in organization and execution of events. Uplift Enterprises always seeks to highlight black-owned businesses that positively impact the African-American community.
